Let’s talk feet! Okay, I know it’s not something we normally talk about, but it is what we do here at Noah Foot and Ankle Center, all day every day! Our feet get lost during the winter months under layers of socks, boots, slippers, and the list goes on. I mean honestly, do you even look at your feet in the winter? Let’s not let our feet get lost and neglected this winter! Winter weather foot care tips you say? Of course, we can help with that!
1. Go for a pedicure! Pedicures always come with a massage that aids in relieving physical pain and stress. During the winter months feet can start to get rough and dry. With routine pedicures, the expert works with tools and loofahs clearing away dead skin cells.
2. Wash your feet every day! Yes, you are probably thinking isn’t this something you should do every day anyway? You won’t believe how many feet are neglected during the winter as they hide away in boots and fuzzy socks. With daily cleaning, it helps keep the fungal and odor-causing infections away. We highly recommend a foot brush tool, to help with the areas between the toes!
3. Moisturize and trim nails regularly. Apply cream or lotion to lock in moisture and help reduce/prevent cracks and dry skin. Who wants an ingrown toenail? My guess is not you! So, keep those toenails trimmed during the winter just like you would during the summer.
4. Skip the nail polish. Did you know wearing nail polish more than a week at a time do not allow your feet to breathe properly? This can create a breeding ground for fungi. Let your feet breathe this winter!
